Job Description

Carlton Forge Works is the premier producer of seamless rolled rings as well as open and closed-die forgings for the aerospace, gas turbine, industrial, commercial, and nuclear industries. We have an exciting opportunity to join a winning team and work leverage your technical skills as a Production Control Manager.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join a high performing organization as the Production Control Manager. The Production Control Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of production planning and control. This individual will develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, ensure on-time product delivery, and maintain high-quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. The Production Control Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align production schedules, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • This role involves tracking all aspects of production control, including contractual requirements, deliverables, scheduling, budget management, and coordination with engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery
  • Identify and resolve production planning and execution challenges
  • Collaborate with Planning and Operations to ensure timely release, assembly, and completion of work orders
  • Manage the movement and documentation of rejected materials in W.I.P. and coordinate their replacement
  • Support the issuance of labor/materials and work order closures
  • Prioritize work orders in coordination with operations leads to align with project schedule requirements
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to resolve work order shortages
  • Facilitate the implementation of engineering process changes in collaboration with Planning, Engineering, and Purchasing
  • Identify and manage obsolete materials
  • Track and maintain logs for outside process orders, including vendor locations and due dates
  • Support resource and capacity planning efforts
  • Assist in cycle counting activities
  • Input and manage data within the MRP system
  • Create daily production schedules & communicate to relevant staff members
  • Prioritize workload to achieve maximum production output
  • Coordinate and integrate work packages and schedules
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers and assures customer needs are identified and addressed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce cost or improve productivity.
  • Communicates and implements actions to ensure department values and policies are well understood and maintained
  • Mentor or serve as a resource to share specialized knowledge with others.
  • Maintain leadership and technical capabilities through continued education or training

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling processes.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and systems, ERP, inventory management, Oracle, Excel
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing production demands.
  • Work independently & act decisively
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience & Education

  • At least 7 years of related experience required
  • Experience in manufacturing required, Aerospace strongly preferred

Relocation is authorized for this position.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $100,000 to $145,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 3X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
