Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pulmonary Function Technologist, Bellevue Hospital.
In this role, the successful candidate delivers prescribed pulmonary function testing services under supervision of pulmonary function laboratory administrative and medical staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates proficiency in the calibration and operation of laboratory equipment and performance of diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates proficiency in patient assessment, clinical aerosol delivery and emergency management procedures related to performance of diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
- Provides appropriate instruction/education to patients tested in the PFT laboratory .
- Demonstrates knowledge of accepted standards, policies, procedures, staff responsibilities and instrumentation related to provision of diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have an Associates degree with 2 years experience and a current NYS Respiratory Therapist license. Basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows and pulmonary function software programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree with preference for 2 years experience working with patients in a clinical setting. Experience in an acute care hospital and/or PFT laboratory is preferred but not required.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $110,981.47 - $122,663.73 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
