Position description

The Spanish Section in the Department of Literatures at the University of California San Diego is seeking a temporary one-quarter appointment for the Fall 2025 Quarter to teach two intermediate Spanish courses.

Duties:

* Teach 2 intermediate Spanish courses (1 or both will be a Spanish for Second Language Learners course and depending on experience 1 will potentially be a Spanish for Heritage Learners course)

* Delegate lessons/grading responsibilities with a Teaching Assistant (the Spanish for Second Language Learners courses have Teaching Assistants)


Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

  • M.A. in Spanish, Spanish Literature, Spanish Linguistics, Hispanic Linguistics, or a related field
  • PhD. in Spanish, Spanish Literature, Spanish Linguistics, Hispanic Linguistics, or a related field
  • Experience teaching Spanish language classes

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience teaching Spanish for Heritage Language Learners
