We are currently looking for a Technical Writer to support our contract with the DRAID CDAO ADA IR Program.
As a Technical Writer, you will play a pivotal role in creating, editing, and managing documentation that supports the program's mission to deliver scalable AI and data solutions for national defense priorities. This role combines strong writing capabilities with technical expertise to produce high-quality, user-friendly materials in compliance with federal standards.

Responsibilities/Duties:
* Documentation Development:
o Create, edit, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, system specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
o Develop clear and concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Ensure all documentation aligns with project requirements and federal standards, including NIST SP 800-171 guidelines for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
* Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
o Work closely with engineers, data scientists, program managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and translate technical concepts into accessible documentation.
o Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in documentation.
o Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as PI Planning and Sprint Reviews, to stay informed of project developments and adjust documentation accordingly.
* Content Management:
o Maintain version control of documents and ensure updates are managed efficiently.
o Organize and manage content using collaboration tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, or other content management systems.
o Develop and maintain templates for documentation to ensure consistency across projects.
* Quality Assurance:
o Review and edit documentation for clarity, grammar, and compliance with organizational standards.
o Conduct usability testing on technical materials to ensure they meet the needs of end-users.
* Training Support:
o Assist in the development of training materials and onboarding documents for Embedded Teams.
o Collaborate with training teams to ensure alignment of instructional materials with program objectives.
* Security and Compliance:
o Ensure all documentation complies with security requirements as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and federal regulations.
o Handle sensitive information with discretion and adhere to clearance requirements.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing or a related field. Proven experience creating and managing documentation for technical projects.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Markdown, and content management systems. Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Knowledge of data systems, AI/ML pipelines, and software development concepts is a plus.
* Writing and Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or SAFe Practitioner, are desirable.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
* Experience in a DoD or federal contracting environment.
* Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and data analytics.
* Background in managing documentation for government programs.
* Knowledge of ITAR regulations and export-controlled documentation.
