Job Overview:

Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems & Services (CSS) division leads North America in air and gas compression-delivering advanced compressors, intelligent systems, and full-spectrum service. From engineering to field support, we drive uptime, efficiency, and innovation at every step.

We're currently seeking a strategic and driven Product Manager for our Reciprocating & Small Rotary, IR Brand-one of the most critical categories within CSS. This high-impact role is responsible for shaping and executing the product strategy for both reciprocating compressors and our oil-lubricated rotary portfolio (50HP and below) under the Ingersoll Rand brand. As Product Manager, you will lead all aspects of product lifecycle management-from roadmap development to end-of-life strategy-while driving new product introductions and portfolio expansion. You'll also be responsible for channel engagement, competitive positioning, and applying data-driven insights to ensure our offerings align with evolving market needs. This is a fast-evolving space. We're looking for someone who can quickly learn the portfolio, challenge the status quo, and confidently define what sets the Ingersoll Rand brand apart in a crowded market. Responsibilities:

Participate and lead Impact Daily Management (IDM) to achieve commercial targets for your portfolio.


  • Own and manage strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and value proposition.
  • Engage with sales channel leadership on key short term and long-term activities to achieve annual operating plan (AOP).
  • Lead and influence cross functional stakeholders (sales, engineering, operations, etc) to achieve all product development and commercialization objectives including timeline, cost, incremental revenue, and incremental margin.
  • Analyze market trends, technology trends, competitive products developments, and other potential impact to the portfolio.
  • Conduct voice of customer activities to identify business, customer, and user needs based on customer account reviews, stakeholder interviews, and sales channel partner surveys. Represent the needs of end customers in all business activities.
  • Partner with Marketing and Demand Generation teams to optimize qualified lead inflow and vertical market focus.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through continuous improvements to operational excellence, including product quality & on-time shipment.
  • Lead lifecycle management of existing compressor platforms to support completes and aftermarket sales.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree (Technical, Scientific or Engineering) with related experience.
  • 7+ years of work experience.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience working with customers and working with phase gate product execution.
  • Excellent Presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong Business Acumen - understanding of finance and business case development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines.
  • Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority.

Preferences:


  • MBA
  • Experience within industrial B2B markets
  • Experience working in a sales capacity or with a sales channel is a plus
