Introduction

The Loudoun County Office of Elections and Voter Registration is seeking Assistant Registrars to join our team on a part-time intermittent basis!
Our office manages all federal, state, and local elections for the voters of Loudoun County, and is dedicated to ensuring that all eligible voters have the right to cast their vote safely, securely, and efficiently. If you have a passion for public service, a desire to help voters exercise their most sacred right as U.S. Citizens, the right to vote, and are looking for a flexible schedule this might be the job for you!


Job Summary

Assistant Registrars serve on a part-time intermittent basis around elections and assist with various tasks related to the conduct of elections in Loudoun County. The successful candidates will assist office staff with voter registration related tasks such as data entry, customer service, answering phones, checking reports, filing, etc. Assistant Registrars may also be assigned to assist with absentee voting in-person or by-mail, which includes tasks such as processing applications, assisting with the mailing and reconciliation of ballots, assisting voters appearing in person, assisting with the supervision of early voting sites, etc. Work for the Assistant Registrars will begin in either August or September, with the bulk of the work in the months of September, October, and November to support the November Election, and again in May and June to support June primary elections. Hours will vary depending on the workload. Assistant Registrars are an integral part of the Office of Elections team and help to ensure that each election is conducted successfully and that all registered voters can exercise their right to vote.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.



Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred); one (1) year of related work experience with computer automated systems and Microsoft Office applications experience; prefer elections related experience in a government environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Criminal and credit background checks are required. All staff in the Office of Elections may be required to work overtime around elections and this will include evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
