Position Title: Quality Engineer Wage: $100,000 - $110,000/year Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions has a great opportunity available for a Quality Engineer at a company in Chicago, IL. Quality Engineer Responsibilities: - Create inspection plans for components specifying methods, equipment, instruments, gauges, etc., inspection frequency, and batch sizes. - Perform complex first-piece and in-process inspections on critical components, including function tests as required - Program and use coordinate measuring machines, vision systems, and other precision inspection equipment - Design and implement custom gauges, jigs, and fixtures for inspections and testing - Use statistical tools to analyze data, identify trends, and anticipate issues - Develop and prosecute CAPAs and SCARs for nonconforming components - Perform tagging, containment, quarantine, evaluation, root cause analysis, and disposition - Interact with Company managers and engineers, customers, and suppliers to diagnose quality issues, address root causes, and troubleshoot and improve product design and manufacturing processes. Requirements for Quality Engineer: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality or related field - 5+ years of related experience in a metals manufacturing environment; experience in machining or fabrication strongly preferred - Experience with QMS system, preferably 1Factory - Ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring tools and instruments, including coordinate measuring machines, vision systems, etc. - Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and drawings - Superior verbal and written communication skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, ERP systems, and database systems Benefits: - Excellent salary based on educational background, skills and experience level - Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance plan with choice of HMO, PPO and HSA coverage, including vision and dental insurance - Comprehensive supplemental insurance package including life and short- and long-term disability insurance - 401(k) plan with company match - Educational assistance program - Ten (10) days paid time off, ten (10) paid holidays and five (5) paid sick leave days per year IND345 |
