DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clinical Care Reviewer, you will gather necessary demographic and clinical information by telephone in order to authorize and make appropriate referrals for consumers in need of psychiatric and behavioral services provided by a mental health professional, or in need of drug and alcohol treatment services provided by a drug and alcohol addictions professional. Duties involve providing consumers with information regarding benefits, treatment options, the managed care system, and community resources; maintaining accurate documentation of all data in the automated system and client records; reviewing and evaluating the medical appropriateness of psychiatric and/or behavioral health and substance abuse cases and, in consultation with supervisor, rendering a certification decision. Additional responsibilities involve serving as an advocate for consumers and families, facilitating coordination of care with other Clinical Care Reviewers, and completing referral and case documentation in accordance with program standards. You will conduct follow-up on referrals with consumers and providers of service, participate in customer service assessment activities, and prepare required reports as mandated by federal, state, or county policies and procedures. This position also involves participation in clinical rounds, seminars, and training sessions to maintain licensure and clinical credentials. Work is performed under the direction of an administrative supervisor and is reviewed through conferences and reports. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A master's degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or counseling and two years of professional mental health clinical experience; or
- Two years of professional mental health clinical experience and possession of an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

- All positions require an active license issued by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs in one of the following areas:
- Social Work
- 20001 - Social Worker
- 20010 - Clinical Social Worker
- 20020 - Marriage and Family Therapist
- 20030 - Professional Counselor
- Psychology
- Nursing
- 18001 - Registered Nurse
- 18040 - Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
- 18170 - Clinical Nurse Specialist
Other Requirements:

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Fayette County. If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
