Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Partnership and Health Innovation (VP SPHI), the Senior Specialist will lead market research and data analysis for diverse donors while supporting donor cultivation and relationship management. These include multilateral, corporate and foundation donors and partners. Specifically, the Senior Specialist will work with the Director of Fundraising to create and implement a data-informed fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events to ensure MSH has the appropriate resources to manage effectively and deliver on its Vision and Mission of saving lives and improving the health of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people by building strong, resilient, sustainable health systems. The Senior Specialist will also provide administrative support to the MSH President & CEO by managing her schedule, coordinating meetings, handling communications, and performing other tasks to ensure the CEO's time and priorities are managed effectively. Specific Responsibilities External Engagement - 20% Support MSH Senior Leadership and Management in diverse donor engagement opportunities. Using Salesforce and other systems, track and document research and manage and document of engagement activities linking MSH product and program opportunities with the requirements of potential clients. Coordinate and support meetings with existing and new donors and partners, including meetings with the MSH CEO; ensure participants have the appropriate briefing materials. Develop PowerPoint presentations, web content, and other communications as needed for SBDP, Senior Leadership and the MSH Board. Operate as an MSH liaison with select foundations and corporations, as appropriate. Represents MSH at external events, as needed; takes and shares detailed notes. Serve as a "positioning lead" to identify new business opportunities, ensure up to date donor knowledge, and coordinate geographic relationships with MSH staff, potential partners, and consultants Fundraising - 40% Support organizational fundraising efforts with desk research, materials and training. Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns. Support donor relations. Work with functional team leads to communicate effectively with donors via phone, email, and social media. Create marketing materials that encourage long-term donor engagement. Develop donor appreciation strategies that fit your audience Track donor/prospect data using existing business systems and ensure timely acknowledgement of gifts. Track results of efforts and create reports for Leadership discussion. Prepare reports and presentations for staff and board meetings Contribute to preparing for pitch meetings, writing effective grant proposals, as needed. Prospect Research - 10% Identify, collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate information on priority prospects, stakeholder groups, and issues of strategic importance to the organization to enhance the ability of development officers to secure funding, as well as to contribute to the organization's intellectual capital on key markets and funding trends. Conduct, analyze, and disseminate market research. Identify key grant opportunities to apply for funding. Administrative support to the Office of the MSH President & Chief Executive Officer - 30% Works with key account team leads to effectively utilize the CEO's Office in engagement strategies and plans. Support meeting preparation and follow up. Responsible for CEO calendar management. Coordinates travel and expense management & budget tracking. Assists with scheduling routine Leadership Team meetings and other CEO-initiated meetings. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in international public health, business, sales, marketing, or a field of study closely related to the assigned responsibilities, or equivalent experience, is required. 4-6 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with experience with major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events. Experience in and passion for global public health highly preferred. Excellent research, data analysis/synthesis, writing and presentation skills. Proven track record of networking and cultivating ethical and appropriate relationships with funders and partners. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials. Strong collaboration skills; demonstrated success in managing diverse internal and external relationships to achieve goals. Ability to coordinate teams, initiate and organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality in multicultural environments. Strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and manage multiple competing priorities across time zones. Experience with fundraising software and donor databases. Fluency in spoken and written English required. Fluency in French, Spanish or Portuguese is a bonus. Prior experience living and working in a LMIC strongly preferred. Ability to work in an office environment; ability to travel to and work in countries in which MSH operates and domestically within the US (10%). The expected salary range for this position is: $63,000.00 - $87,200.00 annually (U.S. locations only).
