Clariant is currently looking for a Well Service Additives Chemist to support the Care Chemicals Business Unit at our facility in The Woodlands, TX. This role will be responsible for developing innovative well service additive products, conducting performance testing, and advancing laboratory methodologies to support both new product development and technical service activities. The Chemist will lead lab-based workstreams, analyze data, and collaborate cross-functionally to support key projects and customer needs. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented scientist with a passion for formulation and problem-solving in the oilfield services industry, seeking to make a lasting impact through technical excellence and innovation. Responsibilities

* Global technical contact for well service additives and wholesale providing support to sales and marketing teams
* Lead assigned workstreams within Class 2 and Class 3 Innovation-to-Market (I2M) projects focused on new product development
* Design and execute lab-scale formulation and application tests to evaluate performance of well service additive products
* Coordinate and manage lab work, analyze experimental data, and present findings during project meetings
* Respond to technical service requests by engaging stakeholders, conducting relevant experiments, and preparing detailed reports
* Train junior team members and regional colleagues on lab procedures, techniques, and equipment
* Ensure strict adherence to safe laboratory practices and continuously promote a culture of safety
* Update or develop new standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with evolving lab methodologies
* Stay informed of industry trends and advancements by attending global conferences and reviewing technical literature



Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field
* Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent academic research experience
* Familiarity with well service additive testing and laboratory procedures, preferred
* Spanish speaking skills are a plus
* Proficient in scientific data analysis and standard computer software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
