    Job Description

    The US Shared Services Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the timely completion of month end close for all business units while performing various accounting matters at the consolidated US level. He/she will foster an environment emphasizing the accuracy and integrity of financial records while actively contributing to month end close and external audits.

    This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP w/ exposure to IFRS seen as a plus). The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver that demonstrates the following skills;

    • Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
    • Prepare and review Corporate complex journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
    • Analyze financial data and provide insightful explanations for variances and trends.
    • Oversee the completion of business unit level financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP.
    • Assist in the creation, roll-out, and maintenance of control activities for all material operating cycles that support a SOX compliant environment.
    • Function as the primary liaison with APM Group external auditors by preparing and coordinating the delivery of audit schedules.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of new accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide financial guidance.
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed while acting as a financial systems subject matter expert.
    • Research and interpret technical accounting guidance to ensure proper application of accounting standards.
    • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required by management.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • CPA designation strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to public accounting.
    • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is preferred but not necessary.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP Business by Design, Concur, Adaptive) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial information.
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
