PLI is searching for a technology professional to fill the role of Staff Software Engineer(responsibilities and qualifications are described below). Summary

Staff Engineers are the guardians of the codebase and stewards of our architecture. They turn vision into elegant, scalable systems, modeling engineering excellence for the entire organization. Sitting at the apex of our engineering career ladder, Staff Engineers wield deep technical mastery and broad architectural insight to de-risk the hardest initiatives, set enduring design standards, and unlock capabilities that ripple across multiple product lines. They move seamlessly between white-board strategy sessions and critical path coding, mentoring seniors toward their next level while partnering with Product, Security, and Operations to translate business goals into robust, future-proof solutions. Rare by design, each Staff Engineer is a force-multiplier whose influence raises the bar for the entire engineering culture and ensures the systems we build today remain reliable, maintainable, and performant.

Key Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with agile team to gather requirements, refine user stories and create solutions.
  • Deliver both functional and non-functional requirements; drive and execute user stories through completion.
  • Perform hands-on design and implementation using the appropriate programming languages and development tools/framework/platform.
  • Develop and maintain unit, integration, and stress tests.
  • Work with DevOps to ensure the continuous delivery of software via the CI/CD process.
  • Establish and enforce coding and testing standards, the software development policies, and code quality with the architects.
  • Guide and train Software Engineers. Coach leads on making sound trade-offs between scope, quality, and delivery dates.
  • Other duties, as assigned.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is Required
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software, or particularly impressive experience of shorter duration.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and common practices (code reviews, SCRUM, etc.) is required.
  • Understanding of application architecture and frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Development experience using C# and MVC is a must.
  • Web development experience is a must.
  • Understanding of source code version control (GIT) and CI/CD (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins) processes.
  • Keeps up to date with market trends and other changes in technology.
  • Development platform/ languages: ASP.net MVC, C#, MS SQL, web services, SOAP/Restful, Azure, CIT, CI/CD tools, EpiServer (web CMS), MS Identity Server, JWPlayer, Kafka, Java, Redis, Javascript, Typescript, React, Bootstrap, React Native, Solr, HTML, CSS, Elastic Search
  • Agile project management: Jira / Confluence
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests
  • SaaS: Salesforce, NetSuite, Adaptive, Celigo, Avalara, CyberSource
  • Experience in relational and non-relational databases: MS SQL, Mongo DB, REDIS
  • Experience in application security and performance optimization
  • Keeps up to date with market trends and other changes in technology

COMPENSATION RANGE FOR THIS POSITION

$130,000 - $140,000 per annum
