Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Senior IT Security Engineer. Primary Functions: Design, implement, and maintain security systems to protect the organization's computer networks and data from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and breaches. This includes coordinating and ensuring remediation of identified vulnerabilities, participating in all internal and external security audits and penetration testing, creating or enhancing security policies, procedures, and standards, and partnering with other teams at HVCU to mature our cyber security program.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security architectures, including firewalls, access controls, encryptions standards, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Ensure cyber security tools and solutions are highly available and up to date.
  • Accountable for remediation of any Security Incidents, Identified Vulnerabilities, an implementation of any security system Hardening activities.
  • Create and enforce IT Cyber Security Standards and Practices.Champion collaboration between IT teams, Risk Management, and 3rd party Security Partners.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Embrace and apply HVCU's guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. Support the Credit Union's initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
  • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Cybersecurity is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in IT Cyber Security, required.
  • Minimum 8 year's experience working as an IT Cyber Security Engineer, required.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience working in Financial Services (Banking, CU, Fintech, annuities, other), required.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards (NIST or CIS), required.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), preferred.
  • ITILv3 Foundation or higher, preferred.
  • System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+, preferred.
