The Technical Support Specialist position requires strong hands-on technical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing outstanding service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow into broader responsibilities, such as supporting ATMs or security systems as a backup to senior staff.
- Respond promptly to support calls, emails, and tickets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or escalate as appropriate.
- Provide clear, consistent communication to end users regarding status and resolution of tickets.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, peripherals, and applications.
- Perform routine software updates and hardware upgrades as needed.
- Support deployment of new equipment across branches.
- Create and maintain internal documentation for technology systems and procedures.
- Develop and update end-user guides and resources for frequently asked questions or recurring issues.
- Participate in training opportunities to broaden skillsets.
- Serve as a backup resource for specialized areas such as ATMs or physical security systems.
- Participate in small to medium-scale technology projects as assigned.
- Provide occasional after-hours and weekend support.
- Join the Saturday on-call rotation after the probationary period.
- Travel to branch locations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED; Computer Science or related field preferred,
- Associate's degree or three years equivalent experience and/or training preferred
- 0-3 years' experience working in an IT related field
- Microsoft or other industry certifications or equivalents a plus
- Understanding of total bank operations desired but not required
- Handles moderate issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possesses working knowledge of the subject matter and performs work under general supervision
- Demonstrates creative, insightful problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates possession of technical skills to be able to quickly diagnose and resolve system issues
- Demonstrates ability to independently conduct research related to systems issues or developments
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with customers to understand needs & concerns and effectively address them
- Demonstrates ability to plan, prioritize and execute daily & project focused work activities on time and within budget
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
