Field-based positions:

Hannaford offers a flexible work environment, with a hybrid work expectation for field-based positions of being physically present in-store and/or a General Office in your territory at least 3 days a week.

Position Summary:

The Regional Asset Protection Managers primary responsibilities are managing and supporting all Asset Protection functions within their given region to achieve best in class service, healthy business partnerships, profit analysis and investigations. The Regional Asset Protection Manager will oversee direct reports in their market and will report directly to the Director of Asset Protection.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Asset Protection associates through hiring and professional development. Ensure all company policies, procedures and code of ethics are being followed. Ensure Asset Protection associates are scheduled around the needs of the business.
  • Manage and Oversee up to 20 full time direct reports in 40 stores, with weekly sales volume between 25 to 30 million.
  • Develop and determine Asset Protection budgets including payroll, uniform and physical security. Review and monitor budgets to maximize the impact of the Asset Protection department within assigned districts/region.
  • Complete timely performance appraisals including individual development plan's, goals, training and coaching documentation.
  • Manage internal and external theft programs to ensure all cases are resolved in an appropriate time frame.
  • Complete timely internal investigations and conduct interviews in partnership with associate relations, legal and store leadership for appropriate resolution.
  • Utilize exception based reporting to initiate and investigate internal/external theft trends.
  • Support retail stores and pharmacies to ensure physical security, customer/associate safety and theft prevention programs are in compliance with company policies, procedures and state/federal regulations.
  • Oversee all physical security equipment including but not limited to CCTV, alarms, safes and locks.
  • Review all Asset Protection external and internal incident files and maintain all Asset Protection files in accordance to company policy.
  • Provide direction, training and support to store leadership in the areas of work place violence, emergency preparedness, suspected theft, fraud and shrink reduction.
  • Establish partnership with local communities, Law Enforcement, District Attorney's office, financial institutions and retail loss prevention groups.
  • Lead investigation efforts regarding ORC and fraud cases, act as a liaison between corporate investigators and the Hannaford banner for a timely resolution.
  • Implement and develop proactive Asset Protection initiatives and strategies to reduce or eliminate loss as directed.
  • Partner with Director of Operations to ensure store/district needs are being met with regards to staffing, investigations and shrink control.
  • Develop and implement Asset Protection awareness training programs, guidelines and best practices for the company.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with associate relations, legal, pharmacy operations and other internal business partners.
  • Analyze weekly store/district level reports to identify and investigate potential losses.
  • Partner with center store specialists regarding potential shrink opportunities.
  • Manage security and special detail vendor relations, including but not limited to creating post orders, facilitating billing/payment and ensuring all post orders are being followed.
  • Investigate protentional internal/external loyalty reward program fraud and provide monthly reporting to internal business partners for program compliance.
  • Support and partner with front end operations in the areas of self-checkout loss, state lottery compliance, internal cash audits and front-end awareness training.
  • Identify and investigate potential gift card fraud and scams to eliminate risk to the company.
  • Utilize task management for communication to retail locations around Asset Protection risks including but not limited to quick change artists, gift card fraud and communication scams.
  • Oversee all armored car relationships to ensure proper procedures are being followed.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor degree or a minimum five years of experience in Asset Protection/Loss Prevention in a multi-store retail environment or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years leading and or managing direct reports.
  • Wicklander- Zulawski interview & interrogation certification or equivalent with extensive interview experience, including telephone interviews.
  • Experience utilizing exception based reporting, Loss Prevention/Asset Protection reporting systems(LPMS), Microsoft office, CCTV Systems.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have ability to travel 60%-80% of the time with overnight travel as needed
  • Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

The Salary Range for this Position is $108,880 - $163,320
