Software Engineer I

The Software Engineer I is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining software systems that solve user and customer problems. Working under the guidance of experienced team members, this role contributes to a variety of domains such as front-end, back-end, operations, testing, and data science. This is an entry-level engineering role ideal for those who are eager to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.

The Software Engineer I supports the delivery of software solutions by executing well-defined tasks and contributing to team development practices. Their work directly contributes to timely and reliable project delivery, helping teams meet product requirements and business outcomes. By learning from experienced engineers and adopting best practices, the Engineer I accelerates the development cycle and strengthens team capabilities.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:

  • Deliver code solutions in line with team expectations and standards.
  • Follow team processes for code submission, peer review, and testing.
  • Conduct manual exploratory testing in support of the team's testing strategy.
  • Implement scripts for automation, tooling, or data processing tasks.
  • Research and prepare for backlog refinement by asking clarifying questions and proposing solutions.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical problems in existing systems.
  • Participate in peer reviews for code and task deliverables.
  • Engage with the team to continuously learn and improve development practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of computer systems, including web development, data persistence, networking, and operations.
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go, Java, Ruby).
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS syntax. Exposure to object-oriented or functional programming concepts.
  • Understanding of Git for version control (clone, branch, commit, merge).

Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated interest in learning new systems and technology.
  • Ability to manage tasks and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Collaborative mindset and eagerness to receive and implement feedback.

Prior Experience:

  • Entry-level role; experience through internships, personal projects, or coursework is acceptable.

Education:

Other Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.

Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings.

Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.

Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).

The salary range for this position is:

Minimum Salary: $67,647

Salary Midpoint: $86,249

Maximum Salary: $104,852

Hiring Range: $67,647 - $100,000
