About the Job

Job Summary:

  • Works in coordination with coaching staff and other Women's Hockey department staff to manage and oversee the administrative and operational needs and day-to-day functioning of the Women's Hockey program.

Essential Functions:

  • 35% - Manage and coordinate all aspects of team travel including flights, buses, meals, lodging, and team itineraries.
    • Use of Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Forms & team organization software platform is required.
    • Timely and effective communication with both internal and external organizations and vendors is required.
    • Anticipation, foresight, and preparation for the unexpected issues related to team travel is critical .
  • 35% - Assist coaches and program staff related to the video operations for the hockey program including the coordination of filming practices and games, logging / coding games, scouting reports, clips, analytics & video exchange with opponents.
    • Serve as the contact / liaison to all tech companies including Hudl Sportscode, Helios, TPE, SportLogiq, etc.
    • Collaborate with internal and external resources to create video content for team meetings and other needs.
  • 15% - Manage and coordinate all team meals, as well as prep and upkeep of the team lounge.
    • Includes pre-game meals, post-game meals, meals incidental to participation and any other team event meals.
    • Grocery shopping / ordering for lounge, including organization and inventory of those items.
    • Work closely with athletic medicine and the nutrition staff to ensure plans are meeting team needs.
  • 15% - Other duties as assigned:
    • Coordinate the involvement and communication with players and staff related to department or program specific activities or special events, including academic progress, first year orientation, community services opportunities, banquets, booster club meetings, alumni engagement, etc.
    • Learn and apply general University of Minnesota systems and policies related to the athletics department as well as those specific to women's hockey (i.e. intranet, compliance related systems, recruiting platforms, team organization, etc)
    • Liaison / point of contact between women's hockey program and select internal departments as assigned.
      • Work alongside the business office in the development and monitoring of the operating budget.
    • Know, understand and commit to following NCAA rules related to duties of an NCAA Division 1 hockey program.
    • Assist in the organization of recruiting database organization and various on-campus recruiting events (official visit weekends, unofficial visit tours and itineraries, etc)
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or a combination of related education and work experience equal to a degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience working or participating in an NCAA or professional hockey program.
  • Experience with hockey based video capturing and editing systems.
  • Experience in leading teams or people groups (problem solving, verbal communication skills, conflict resolution, etc...)

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $45,500 - $47,000 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
