JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Performance Enhancement Coach is responsible for enhancing the competitive performance of intercollegiate student-athletes and reducing injury risk by implementing injury prevention programs focusing on strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance.
Job Duties
- Develop and implement strength & conditioning training programs; create/direct sport-specific and gender specific speed, strength and agility workouts for varsity athletic teams.
- Provide strength & conditioning educational sessions to varsity/club/recreation participants, as well as general users of athletics facilities.
- Work with the Athletic Training Staff to implement injury prevention programs and coordinate rehabilitation protocols following an injury.
- Provide Head Coaches with analytical feedback on individual performance metrics and injury rates.
- Manage strength and fitness facilities and supervise student employees.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomechanics, exercise science, or related field.
- At least 1 years of relevant experience working in Intercollegiate Athletics.
- First-aid & CPR certifications.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
- Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
- Evidence of a commitment to community & belonging.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful interview.
- Successful completion of background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSCS from NCSA; or SCCC from CSCCa.
- Experience working at Liberal Arts College.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
