Job Description
The Chief of Staff will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and the Global Data Team. This position requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can manage various functional routines, communications, and operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow within the team. The role requires a leader who can foster collaboration across the Global Data Team and with other Business Units. Strength in linking ideas and data points together is crucial to excel in the role. Being discreet, earning and maintaining trust, as well as championing the best idea, are essential habits to thrive in the role. Acting as an advisor and facilitator, candidates who can build consensus, build networks, and work in methodical sequencing will be best equipped to manage the core duties and dynamics. Operations & Leadership Team Support:
- People & Talent Strategy:Support the monthly business review meetings and act as the owner of a comprehensive strategy for the Business Unit. This includes workstreams on recruiting at post-secondary institutions, early careers, interns, rotational programs, and development opportunities.
- Leadership Team Updates & Communication:Manage communication channels and streamline updates to minimize disruptions while prioritizing clarity.
- Leadership Team Meeting Agendas:Prepare and organize agendas for various routine meetings with the Leadership Team.
- Employee Engagement:Help contribute to an ongoing strong team culture. This position coordinates with the Leadership Team to design and implement action items to improve engagement scores and continually advance the morale and direction of the Business Unit.
Chief Data Office Communications:
- Organizational Announcements:Draft and send written communications for various occasions, including employee engagement survey results, organizational updates, and compliance training reminders.
- Executive Writing & Presentations:Assist in creating executive presentations and writing talking points for key internal and external engagements.
- Quarterly Business Unit Townhalls:Plan and coordinate with support from the Stratey, Business Planning, and Operations division quarterly meetings and regional site watch events. This includes booking dates, creating content, coordinating guest speakers, and organizing watch events.
- New Employee Onboarding:Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees for the Business Unit by building a comprehensive process that synchs with Talent Acquisition, Early Careers, and the larger People (Human Resources) organization.
Functional Routines:
- Business Partner Liaison: Build and maintain trusted relationships with a wide set of partners within the enterprise to coordinate on shared priorities and routine business events. These include Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
- Reporting: Coordinate, copy-edit, and manage routine submission for core enterprise responsibilities
Other Priorities:
- Relationship manager and liaison. The Chief of Staff will support the Business Unit and Leadership Team priorities by contacting, consulting, and coordinating with various contacts. Leading without authority as well as diplomacy is critical in these instances.
- Critical thinkings and feedback. Various scenarios will require the Chief of Staff to be consulted and provide thoughtful, measured feedback and add value prior to activation,
- This position's core duties may shift and evolve over time to match the Chief Data Officer's priorities as well as the Objectives and Key Results of the Business Unit.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures for a clean audit and the consistent deployment of best practices.

Basic Qualifications
* 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
* 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
* Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a data-driven organization.
* Proven experience in leading high-impact, complex projects within a global organization
* Strong organizational and project management skills. Able to lead without authority.
* Extraordinary diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confidence to edit and condense business writing.
* Exceptional record making and listening skills.
* Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential. This includes: Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
