A Brief Overview

Under the direction of system leadership, this role will lead the development and management of logistics across the UH system. The Manager will collaborate with Senior Leadership to provide seamless non-clinical logistical support for UH System Operations. This position will be responsible for driving the reengineering of support services to improve efficiencies and financial outcomes using agile, technology-driven models. This position will oversee the design and execution of a system-level logistics department, consolidating transportation resources and managing a dispatching process. The Manager will be the business owner of logistics software and will deploy people, processes, and technology across the enterprise to meet system needs. Additionally, this leader will assess underutilized assets to generate value and provide consulting support to system leadership. The role requires ongoing engagement with outsourced vendors, clinical and non-clinical leaders across all UH Medical Centers to build and manage key relationships.

What You Will Do



  • Direct oversight, development and management of the system logistics and courier services strategy and associated team
  • Work with institute, service line, and entity leaders to develop, complete and gain approval of market conclusions and business opportunities using the portfolio of tools and data sets
  • Collaborates with multiple business lines to design and implement a seamless operational support model for all of UH
  • Supports the development of IT applications using Supply chain data to enhance product standardization, cost reductions, procurement and delivery functions for Materials Management.
  • Work with business analysts to identify trends, outliers, educational needs, and improvement strategies to increase transportation efficiency and decrease outsourced spending
  • Provide project management oversight and in some cases ownership for the development and implementation of various projects and initiatives across the System Logistics as it continues to grow and evolve
  • Identify and evaluate technologies; defining user requirements; establishing technical specifications with IT partners to expand the telephony and text based engagement modalities across the organization
  • Leverage owned and affiliated UH assets to support safe, timely, efficient, equitable and effective logistical support
  • Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes and enhanced management reporting
  • Assist in develop reporting and metrics to track detailed process measures along with pertinent performance measures
  • Day to day oversight and support of the logistics and operational management software, Logis.
