Kamatics, a division of Kaman, specializes in self-lubricating bearings and engineered products. We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Assembly Tech I to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on second shift. The core hours for the position are 3:15pm - 11:45pm and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, offered at the back end of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overtime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 in a week.

Our products are used in space, aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. As an industry leader we design, test and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints and work instructions, with supervision.
• Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts. Conducts quality control checks. Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools. Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Verifies quantities and checks for completion of operations, manages parts and tooling inventories.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor.
• Make recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contribute to 5S program in work area.
• Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 0-1 years of experience in manufacturing production environment.
• Basic mathematics.
• Able to read and follow visual instructions.
