Molecular Biologist

Work Location: Wright-Patterson AFB, OH

Cape Fox Corporation subsidiary, Cape Fox Federal Integrators, LLC, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Molecular Biologist to support ongoing research and public health initiatives. We are looking for individuals with a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences, Public Health, or a related field, and 1-2 years of experience in a public health or laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, next-generation sequencing (Illumina and Oxford Nanopore), and environmental sampling across wastewater, soil, and air matrices. The selected candidate will play a key role in laboratory operations, genetic analysis supporting aeromedical research, scientific documentation, and protocol preparation for IRB and biosafety submissions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact biomedical research and support mission-critical projects alongside a skilled and collaborative team. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $65,000 - $90,000.

The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, we offer a variety of benefits including company holidays, paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. Core Duties:



  • Assist biological and medical scientists in laboratories, setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory instruments & equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations, and calculating/recording results
  • Conduct environmental sampling, sample handling, and processing
  • Perform DNA extraction from samples and analyze them for genetic variants associatedwith aeromedical conditions
  • Perform next generation sequencing, PCR, and microarray genotyping as needed in supportof the project's research objectives characterizing aeromedical risk
  • Assist Applied Technology and Genomics (PHT) staff in developing and optimizing procedures for genetic testing
  • Update/conduct review of scientific literature relevant to the research initiatives
  • Support experimental planning/design, protocol training and execution, and data collectionand analysis
  • Support development, reporting, and editing of competitive, well-written, full drafts ofresearch proposals, papers, and presentations as related to the project
  • Assist with the preparation, coordination, and submission of protocol-related documents toInstitutional Review Boards (IRB) or Institutional Biosafety Committee
  • Support the preparation of reports of program initiatives as related to the project at the direction and input of PHT staff
  • Support the laboratory with other tasks as required to ensure proper function of the laboratory, including but not limited to communal solid waste disposal, and general laboratory maintenance procedures
