Position Summary
The University of St. Francis, a Catholic, Franciscan institution in Joliet, Illinois, invites applications for a full-time Teaching Instructor of Mathematics to begin August 2025. This is a full-time, nine-month position with a 30-credit-hour teaching load for the academic year.

Small class sizes and a student-centered philosophy characterize the USF experience. The university is located in a residential Joliet neighborhood 35 miles southwest of Chicago with a satellite campus in downtown Joliet.

The Department of Mathematics offers four undergraduate degree programs: Mathematics (B.A.), Mathematics with Secondary Certification, Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science, and Mathematics and Computer Science.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in mathematics and (possibly) statistics for majors and non-majors. Provide service to the department and college.
Minimum Requirements
* Masters degree in Mathematics or Mathematical Sciences
* Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
* Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university
Preferred Requirements
* Ph.D. in Mathematics or Mathematical Sciences
* University or college teaching experience in mathematics
* Technological proficiency in the discipline
* Mentoring and advising experience
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule
This is a full-time, nine-month position with a 30-credit-hour teaching load beginning August 2025..
Physical Requirements of Position
Work is performed in classroom and office settings with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity
