Velosity Forest Lake is searching for a Project Specialist to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The Project Specialist is responsible for providing technical and administrative support for the Program Manager during new project development. Support activities include, but are not limited to; project documentation, coordinating project meetings, managing project timelines, monitoring project costs, and completing product development forms and requisitions. This is an on-site position. Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm The typical pay range for this role: $52,000 - $78,000. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target. This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. Essential Duties:
- Work cooperatively with all employees, demonstrating company core values.
- Project creation includes project entry into the ERP system, setting up engineering forms, working with the technical team to define the development processes and deliverables.
- Complete contract review activities.
- Create bills of materials and process control documentation, and manage the updates throughout project development stage, reviewing with the development team to ensure they are adequately communicating the objectives to the production team.
- Organize/lead development meetings including project kickoffs and final transfers to production (PPQ), including coordinating the efforts of multiple departments.
- Monitor engineering forms, project packets and directories for audit compliance.
- Monitor sales order and project pricing, and coordinate invoicing with Customer Service personnel.
- Audit and close projects when complete.
- Assist the program managers with documentation and program related activities necessary to meet all program deliverables and timelines including generating revision quotes.
- Manage and report the status of projects when required by internal team.
- Make recommendations for improvement of engineering processes and documentation systems.
- Take direction from and support the Engineering Specialist Supervisor.
- Provides direct support to Program Managers by assisting with project timelines, monitoring costs, scheduling and attending development meetings, completing required development forms and requisitions, shipping of engineering products, and other tasks as requested by the Program Manager.
- Provide backup support for the Engineering Specialist team.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED-General Studies.
- Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
- Preferred Certified Associate in Project Management.
- 4 years of experience working in an engineering technical administrative role within an injection molding environment (preferably within new product development), or a combination of 2 years in a technical administrative role, and 2 years in a technical and/or mechanical support role (preferably plastic injection molding industry).
- Intermediate computer and keyboarding.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe applications.
- Strong professional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills.
- General digital media (taking pictures, videos, including file transfer).
- Good understanding of the project development process relating to injection molding and secondary operations processes and terminology.
- Intermediate knowledge of print reading, and inspection equipment and methods.
- Understanding effective use of project financials.
- Perform daily tasks safely and effectively.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Solve complex problems independently.
- Work effectively with internal customers and suppliers.
- Manage multiple priorities at the same time without losing the ability to complete them on time.
Physical & Mental Demands:
- Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment: This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.
