We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate, Quality Engineer to join our Wealth Services Engineering team. This role is located in Jersey City, NJ-Hybrid (4 days a week) In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer (QE) to join our QA team. As a QE, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and executing automated and manual test plans to ensure our applications meet the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to identify bugs early, improve test coverage, and ensure a reliable CI/CD pipeline Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automated test frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing
- Develop and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and sprint planning
- Identify, document, and track bugs and work with developers to resolve them
- Monitor and enhance test coverage using tools and metrics
- Collaborate with DevOps to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Perform exploratory and regression testing across browsers, devices, and environments
- Ensure compliance with QA best practices and internal quality standards
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (manual and automated)
- Experience with test automation tools such as:
- Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium
- Postman, REST Assured for API testing
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language:
- Python, JavaScript, Java, or TypeScript
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI)
- Experience testing RESTful APIs, microservices, and web/mobile applications
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Behave)
- Familiarity with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6)
- Knowledge of security testing principles (OWASP, static analysis tools)
- Experience with test case management systems (TestRail, Xray, Zephyr)
- Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $58,000 and $120,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
