About the Role

Verkada Legal is hiring its very first Contracts Manager to support our lean, mean Commercial Legal team. You will be joining a rockstar legal team and will play a pivotal role in overseeing/managing the day to day flow of contracts such as customer NDAs, customer End User Agreements, Business Associate Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, and agreements with our vendors for use of their hardware, software, and/or Cloud/SaaS services. In this role, you will not only work closely with other functions within Legal but you will also be a key partner to Verkada's dynamic Sales team and other business and cross-functional teams. We are an "in the office" company and this role is based in San Mateo, CA.

What You'll Be Expected To Do



  • Review and negotiate NDAs, B2B customer agreements (e.g. End User Agreements, Business Associate Agreements, Data Processing Agreements), and vendor agreements for hardware, software, and cloud/SaaS solutions
  • Work closely with Sales, other business teams (e.g. Strategic Sourcing), and cross-functional teams (e.g. Security, Product, Finance) to drive deals to prompt completion
  • Build, standardize, and improve processes, playbooks, and knowledge sharing within the Commercial Legal function
  • Help manage and update customer and partner contract templates
  • Identify opportunities to improve work across cross-functional teams and drive those projects to completion
  • Collaborate well across client teams, cross-functional teams, and Legal organization
  • Help onboard new outside counsel including reviewing/negotiating outside counsel engagement letters
  • Support Sales team responses to legal related questions in prospective customer questionnaires


What You'll Need



  • Bachelors degree from a four year university
  • 4-6+ years of contract management (or contract administration) experience, preferably in house at a technology company
  • Experience reviewing, editing, and negotiating B2B NDAs as well as software, hardware, and cloud/SaaS commercial agreements preferred
  • Experience working with/in a contract lifecycle management tool (especially Ironclad) preferred
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well strong collaboration skills
  • Initiative to drive deals and projects to prompt conclusion, execute process improvements, share knowledge across the team, and support clients proactively
  • Comfortable supporting multiple tasks simultaneously and good judgment to triage and prioritize matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Adaptability and an open mindset to helping achieve client goals

This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada's total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
