BUS AIDE - SAFETY ATTENDANT (UNION)

The Bus Aide will assist the driver and passengers to maintain safe and orderly travel on buses transporting students with disabilities and special needs, pre-school students, sure start students and pre-kindergarten to second grade students primarily. The Safety Attendant must utilize appropriate communicative skills, present a professional appearance and attitude, and be willing to work a flexible schedule.

This is an onsite role at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery Alabama. This role is part time and seasonal, during the school year. The shift is split to cover the morning and afternoon school bus runs. This position pays $18.51 per hour.

Work Model: Onsite

• Assist students in safe entry and exit.
• Ensure the students remain seated while the bus is in motion.
• Ensure students are properly secured and wear seat belts when available.
• Ensure wheelchairs are secured and locked.
• Ensure safety practices are always observed aboard the bus.
• Assist the driver by being familiar with each student's drop off location and parent/guardian.
• Be familiar with student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) (if applicable).
• Write disciplinary reports on students as necessary.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Able to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs.
• Prior school bus aide experience, preferred.
• Have good communication and people skills
• Have clerical and general office skills.
• Maintain current CPR/ First Aide certification.
• Able to obtain CNACI Clearance through required background and security investigation.
• Able to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
• U.S. Citizen.
