Job Description

Shift: 1st Shift
Days of Work: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Work Location: On-site (Mankato, MN)
Start Salary: $113,327 - $169,990
Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly

Position Objective:

This person will work closely under the direction of the Plant Manager/Site Leader to provide overall leadership and direction to the Production organization by ensuring the safe and efficient performance of the facilities, employees and operations through the implementation of manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure the facility supports EPG Americas/Nidec's strategic objectives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage production schedule adherence and internal/external delivery performance as well as continuous cost improvement activities with a focus on increased productivity.
  • Manage the initiatives in the development of lean manufacturing, 3Q6S, discrete work environment and continuous improvement projects that result in improved labor costs, production yields and raw material usage.
  • Direction of Supervisors/Managers in the execution of their responsibilities to ensure meeting plant objectives for producing and shipping the quality and quantity of products specified and ensures discipline within confines of plant rules and applicable laws.
  • Promote and support a safe and healthful working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees and enhancing safety awareness.
  • Comply with and enforce company safety program and policy.
  • Support the company's Quality Management System.
  • Implement safety and good housekeeping standards by utilizing 3Q6S principles.
  • Support the development of programs and plans to improve employee relations and employee productivity.
  • Conduct employee evaluations.
  • Monitor plant performance.
  • Direct the development of and approve plans to improve output, quality and costs.
  • Monitor production/scheduling to assure efficiencies are maintained.
  • Manage departments such that budget requirements are met.
  • Recommend new handling and manufacturing methods to achieve maximum productivity.
  • Review employee training to work assignments to assure safety in operation and quality compliance.
  • Ensure production and shipping schedules are met.
  • Perform all other tasks or responsibilities as delegated by the Plant Manager/Site Leader.

Experience/Skills:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience within manufacturing with direct experience managing professionals and working with manufacturing workforce
  • Knowledge of World-Class Manufacturing principles
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and facilitation skills
  • Strong and proven team leading and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with capacity planning including people and resource planning
  • Product management experience preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with high awareness of deadlines
  • Experience with capital budgets and capital projects
  • Change agent that comprehends the cultural component
  • Global manufacturing perspective
  • ISO experience preferred
  • Mastery of lean/continuous improvement tools and deployment preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or management
