Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Process Coordinator Maintenance at our Burns Harbor, Indiana location. The ideal candidate would manage, lead, and direct the electrical maintenance hourly workforce and support contractors in a designated area across a 24-hour operation. They will coordinate all maintenance activities on assigned shifts or multiple shifts within a single operations department or unit. They will be responsible for safety, housekeeping, turn operations, breakdown response, maintenance planning, and downturn work execution as outlined below. Summary ofResponsibilities:
- Supervise a crew of hourly maintenance employees, and uphold and enforce safety, environmental, job procedures, and maintain general discipline of the crew.
- Communicate with upstream and downstream operations and non-Cleveland-Cliffs contractors to coordinate work, deliveries, and service.
- Enforce safety regulations, conduct daily safety communications, monitor monthly safety activities, and conducts safety inspections as needed.
- Be available 24/7 to diagnose and troubleshoot programming and electrical issues and provide technical expertise on all aspects of a high-voltage electrical distribution system for a heavy manufacturing facility.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and maintenance activities within or between departments.
- Coordinate and monitor the electrical work of external contractors for the purpose of ensuring that projects are satisfactorily completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain spares inventory with a primary focus on the plant electrical distribution system components (medium/high voltage breakers, cubicles, switchgear, transformers, rectifiers, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Create, read, and analyze charts, work orders, blueprints, electrical drawings and diagrams, production schedules, and other records and reports.
- Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance on equipment.
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems to work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and other technical resources to drive results.
- This position is primarily scheduled for days, but pre-scheduled outage work will require occasional backturn coverage to ensure proper execution. Rotating weekend/holiday coverage is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
MinimumQualifications:
- Three (3) years' experience as an electrical maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/electrical engineering technology orHigh school diploma/GED and three (3) years electrical maintenance supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years' experience as an electrical maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment, preferably in a high-voltage electrical distribution system environment.
- Knowledge of industrial power equipment - transformers, switchgear -up to 13.8kv DC&AC drives, including variable speed AC drives Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Experience with scheduling, coordinating, and executing standardized preventive maintenance practices on high-voltage electrical distribution systems and tracking the same with detailed reports and record-keeping discipline.
- Experience with managing electrical upgrade projects.
