Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000 students each year. The college is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training initiatives, distance learning and service to a diverse population of students. Hudson Valley has an extension center in Malta, NY known as HVCC North and sponsors the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center in Troy, NY. In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in an academic discipline and at least seven (7) years of successful leadership in enrollment management, enrollment modeling and research, student development services or other related professional specialty. Demonstrated strong administrative and supervisory abilities, leadership skills in engaging academic and administrative components in long-range enrollment planning, effective communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to foster collaboration among students, faculty, administration and the community. Proven record of commitment to equal educational opportunity is required.

Ph.D. or Ed.D. and knowledge of relevant information technologies including statistical, spreadsheet, database and presentation layout software as well as a record of effective leadership in budget, assessment and planning processes preferred.

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Vice President for Student Affairs reports to the President and performs the following duties:

Serves as a key member of the senior leadership team and participates in a highly collaborative and inclusive team-oriented decision-making process.

Serves as the chief enrollment management officer and oversees, with input from the President and other Vice Presidents, the development and implementation of a comprehensive enrollment management plan, including the creation of goal-driven enrollment plans reflecting program capacity, demand and State funding policies.

Serves as the chief student affairs officer and provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight of the operations and activities of the College Student Development division. Develops, trains, supervises, implements, and evaluates a large variety of diverse personnel and programs.

Oversees and supervises the following areas: Registrar, Admissions, Student Development and Wellness, College Health Services, Access and Assistive Technology, Student Life, Educational Opportunity Program [EOP], Athletics, Campus Judicial System, Financial Aid, Cultural Affairs, Campus Ministry, Retention, Orientation and First Year Experience programs.

Collaborates with other VP's in the development and implementation of coordinated marketing, recruitment, retention, testing, advisement, financial aid, scholarships, and payment strategies to achieve student enrollment goals. Serves as the leader of an enrollment management team.

Develops and implements plans, policies, and budgets to facilitate and improve the Student Development programs and facilities-related operations and activities.

Directs the application and enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct and other administrative actions related to students.

Coordinates the development and enforcement of Campus Regulations as required by law and set forth in the College's Catalog, Faculty Handbook and Student Handbook.

Provides leadership, oversight and coordination of functional areas to ensure institutional compliance with all Federal and State laws and regulations governing student enrollment, immunizations and Americans with Disabilities Act, child care, and NJCAA regulations as well as policies and procedures of the HVCC Board of Trustees, SUNY Administration and the New York State Department of Education.

Serves as the President of the Faculty Student Association.

Provides direction for all student and parent orientation programs.

Provides overall responsibility for Commencement and Honors Convocation.

Serves as a member of the College Cabinet and Academic Senate.

Coordinates with the Vice President for Academic Affairs to establish and maintain articulation/transfer agreements with senior colleges.

Prepares a variety of reports as requested and submits an annual report to the President of the College describing events and accomplishments of those activities under his/her administrative authority.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the President.

This is a full-time 12-month, Management Confidential position with a salary range of $155,000.00 to $165,000.00.
