Responsible for executing financial systems strategy and corporate performance management at Zayo, the Head of Financial Systems & Reporting is an integral part of the leadership team for the Finance organization. Our Head of Financial Systems & Reporting leads the technology roadmap and portfolio for the finance value stream providing strategic guidance and support to senior and executive leadership and oversees critical application support for end users.

You will prioritize key initiatives, deliver solutions to achieve measurable business outcomes, and oversee the change management approach. You will also lead Zayo's corporate performance management practices including North American performance measurement, reporting and analysis, monitoring and control, and strategic alignment to enable executive leadership and owners to identify and address performance gaps in a timely manner.

*Candidates local to the Denver, CO metro area, preferred. Hybrid capacity out of our Denver headquarters at 1401 Wynkoop; however we're open to considering remote candidates based in the United States.

Responsibilities:

Key Leadership Responsibilities Include

Strategic Alignment: Work with Finance business leaders to gather requirements for strategic system initiatives, work with PMO team to prioritize projects for entire business

  • Lead the finance organization's Onestream, and Oracle Fusion support functions. This includes designing each platform roadmap, prioritizing enhancements and monitoring bug fixes.

  • Oversee the finance organization's reporting strategy for both Onestream and Oracle Fusion and work closely with Zayo's data team to enable enterprise reporting priorities. This includes leading the finance data and reporting team which is responsible for the development of reports and dashboards as needed by the entire finance organization.

  • Maintain and improve the system architecture within the finance organization's planning, consolidation, billing and general ledger functions.

  • Work closely with Zayo's IT organization to fulfill the finance organization's agile development responsibilities.

Business Relationship Management: Work with Finance leaders, PMO, IT and other business leaders to prioritize projects for entire business

  • Identify business objectives, define, and communicate vision, and prioritize the technology roadmap and portfolio for the finance value stream.

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior and executive leadership by capturing key opportunities for business process improvement and translating them into actionable technology solutions for the value stream.

  • Oversee application support and agile processes for key financial platforms, including program management, business system analyst workstreams, enhancement backlog prioritization, sprint execution, and change management.

  • Lead agile release train for finance value to prioritize epics and features for the technology roadmap and collaborate with other product managers, product owners, and stakeholders to synchronize efforts across multiple scrum teams.

  • Lead and execute change management approach for all finance transformation Initiatives. Influence peers and leaders within area and/or across function / sub-function to deliver on established objectives.

  • Lead corporate performance management practices including design of processes, development and maintenance of systems, and management of key reporting mechanisms for senior/executive leadership and owners.

  • Lead Finance's monthly operating review (MOR) processes and reporting deliverables. Partner with finance, accounting, and business leaders to capture key financial metrics, KPIs, variance analysis, and business insights to inform decision making.

  • Lead the monthly financial close process for finance after trial balance completion and through the monthly operating review including the facilitation of team communication, managing key dependencies, proactively addressing risks and delays, and conducting ad hoc analysis as appropriate.

  • Partner with Accounting on mapping, system integration, and financial reporting for M&A activity and company integration

  • Actively participate in program increment planning events for scaled agile development including presenting vision and roadmap, identifying dependencies, and assisting in establishing objectives for the upcoming increment. Also participate in value stream syncs and retrospectives.

  • Partner with solution architects to support enterprise platform development efforts and multiple scrum teams for financial systems.

  • Partner with VP, Controller and Head of Corporate Accounting to proactively address financial reporting changes including requirements gathering, scoping, and solution design.

  • Partner with SVP, FP&A to manage forecasting models including methodology documentation, training, maintenance, integration, tooling, and reporting.

  • Partner with finance value stream product owners to maintain and refine enhancements backlog to improve prioritization efforts and facilitate effective planning and execution at the team level.

  • Partner with finance leaders to help identity and execute automation initiatives.

  • Prepare investors reporting submissions and support investor relations with communications and inquiries.

  • Produce and distribute weekly operating metrics forecast for senior/executive leadership and owners.

  • Produce key deliverables for consolidated financial reporting including earnings, board, investor presentations, and ad hoc requests.

  • Conduct internal data validation reviews and tie-outs for consolidated financial reporting between accounting and finance.

  • Provide project management support for key initiatives within Corporate Finance or efforts related to financial reporting strategy.

Team Leadership: Provides leadership and direction through Sr. Manager (P4), Lead Analyst (P3) & contractors.

  • Builds strong business partnerships across the enterprise - influences cross-functionally without hierarchical control.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA), preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience and five (5) years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity; OR fifteen (15) years of direct related experience, plus five (5) years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity, required.

  • Experience with Onestream and Oracle Fusion, required; experience with PowerBI, preferred.

  • Proven experience managing a team and positively influencing others outside your span of control. Setting the tone for the team and leading with a "we can" attitude.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Accountability: take ownership and manage the Company's close processes through accurate accounting and compliance to established procedures.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $190,000 - $225,000 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
