Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an Exciting Potential Opportunty for a Phlebotomy Technician (Donor Center) to join our team supporting the Armed Services Blood Bank Center located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA.

This role is ideal for candidates passionate about donor care and skilled in venipuncture and blood collection procedures.

Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of an accredited Donor Phlebotomy program (Joint Commission or CAP)

  • Certification as a Donor Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 50 successful donor or patient venipunctures

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform donor screening, blood collection, and component processing

  • Conduct phlebotomy, take vitals, and monitor donor well-being

  • Operate and maintain blood collection and apheresis equipment

  • Label, process, and store specimens according to SOP and FDA guidelines

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and infection control standards

  • Provide guidance to students and staff on proper phlebotomy techniques

  • Support mobile blood drives and maintain donor area cleanliness
