General Purpose:




Responsible for scheduling work and directing a crew of Maintenance Technicians; train and provide work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more skilled trades. This position will be considered a working lead role.




Job Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Assign work orders and provide direction to a crew of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Provide training, work direction and guidance as needed to ensure all work performed meets department and plant expectations.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all assigned Preventative and Predictive Maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled. Continually analyze the effectiveness of these processes and implement improvements as needed.
  • Report to the Maintenance Supervisor regarding work completed. Refer unusual technical or personnel issues to the Production or Maintenance Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Provide input to performance reviews; monitor work of assigned crew members and ensure that expectations are being met.
  • Perform a variety of journey-level work in the maintenance and repair of plant facilities and production equipment; prioritize, schedule, assign and coordinate the work of assigned Maintenance Technicians to accomplish a wide variety of duties related to maintaining consistent optimal throughput of the plant without compromising quality.
  • Maintain various records related to labor, materials and work orders as required.
  • Assure compliance with appropriate safety and food safety practices / procedures.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.


  • Supports overall plant and DFA strategic initiatives as they are defined.



Minimum Qualifications:


Education and Experience



  • BS Degree in related engineering field preferred
  • 3 to 5 years technical engineering experience and management, in a plant manufacturing environment
  • A working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and process production engineering

  • Scheduling, prioritizing and assigning work.
  • Appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
  • SAP
