Inova IT Enterprise Architecture is looking for a dedicated Sr. IT Cloud Engineer to join the Team. This remote role will be full-time working Monday - Friday day shift.

The Sr. IT Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining robust cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong automation skills using PowerShell and CLI, proven experience documenting complex technical processes, and hands-on exposure to Azure Policy, FinOps, hybrid networking, Bicep, and Azure DevOps pipelines. This is a hands-on, technical role where attention to detail and forward-thinking strategies are highly valued.

Sr. IT Cloud Engineer Job Responsibilities:



  • Architect, implement, and maintain Azure-based environments and services, ensuring scalability and high availability.
  • Configure and optimize Azure resources (e.g., Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage, Automation Accounts).
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Bicep templates, ensuring consistent and repeatable deployments.
  • Create and manage complex automation scripts in PowerShell and Azure CLI for infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Utilize Azure Automation Accounts to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce manual effort, and minimize errors.
  • Implement and maintain Azure Policy across multiple subscriptions to enforce compliance, security baselines, and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure ongoing alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Configure and support hybrid networking solutions, such as ExpressRoute or site-to-site VPN, to securely connect on-premises infrastructure with Azure.
  • Monitor and optimize connectivity to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Leverage FinOps best practices to optimize Azure resource usage and control costs.
  • Monitor and report on Azure spend, making recommendations for resource rightsizing and cost governance.
  • Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines (or other CI/CD tooling) to automate application delivery and infrastructure updates.
  • Integrate code quality, security scans, and compliance checks into pipelines where feasible.
  • Leverage Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and other Azure-native tools to maintain high performance and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security gaps, and cost inefficiencies in Azure workloads.
  • Produce and maintain clear, concise technical documentation for cloud architectures, automation procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide training, best practices, and knowledge transfer to internal teams as needed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security, networking, and application development, to align Azure solutions with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to recommend and implement innovative cloud technologies and workflows.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree; or Associate degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
  • Experience: 3 years of hands-on Azure experience
  • Certification: At least 2 of the following certifications: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
