Overview

The Asset Manager will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of IT assets across the USCG enterprise, including hardware, software, licenses, and configuration items. This role supports the accountability, availability, and audit-readiness of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and contractor-managed assets across shore, afloat, and classified environments. The Asset Manager will work closely with engineering, logistics, and cybersecurity teams to ensure accurate inventory, warranty tracking, refresh planning, and maintenance coordination. Responsibilities

Position Duties:

    Maintain accurate asset inventories across ESMP, CMDB, and physical records to support USCG's Total Asset Visibility (TAV) objectives.
  • Coordinate the intake, tagging, deployment, and disposition of assets including laptops, network equipment, and mobile devices.
  • Ensure serialized inventory tracking across all domains (NIPR, SIPR, afloat) in compliance with DHS property accountability policies.
  • Track warranty status, service contracts, refresh schedules, and end-of-life planning for government-owned and contractor-provided equipment.
  • Interface with engineering and operations teams to align asset availability with modernization and field support schedules.
  • Prepare and support internal and external audits, property reconciliations, and configuration inspections.
  • Contribute asset status reports, risk assessments, and updates to Monthly Status Reports and PMRs.


Qualifications

Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Experience in government property management, IT asset lifecycle tracking, and warehouse coordination.
  • Strong understanding of federal configuration and asset management controls (e.g., DHS 4300A, NIST CM family, FAR/GFEs).
  • Skilled in asset database reconciliation, CMDB usage, and asset analytics/reporting.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with logistics, engineering, cybersecurity, and field operations personnel.
  • Detail-oriented and responsive in high-tempo, asset-intensive IT environments.

Position Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Information Systems, or related field.

Certifications:

  • Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) - Preferred
  • IT Asset Management (CITAM) or equivalent - Preferred
  • ITIL v4 Foundation - Preferred

Clearance:
DoD Top Secret - Required (TS/SCI Eligible - Preferred)

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in federal IT asset or property management roles.
  • Experience with serialized inventory tracking, configuration item management, and warehouse logistics.

Familiarity with CMDB platforms, ESMP tools, and USCG or DHS asset tracking systems.
