Position: Design & Brand Specialist

Department: Marketing and Development

Reports to: Marketing and Communications Manager

Status: Exempt

Summary

Primarily responsible for the visual presentation of marketing materials by designing art and copy layouts. In collaboration with the Marketing team, develops, designs, and produces public relations and marketing materials to support Goodwill Keystone's mission and social enterprise (Donated Goods Retail) operations. Manages and collaborates on graphic design projects, in conjunction with the Manager, in support of donor and customer acquisition, community relations, mission, advocacy, fund development, talent acquisition and more. Maintains the integrity of the organization's brand standards.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Manages the design and layout of advertisements, promotions, store signage, flyers, brochures, event materials, vehicle wraps, and more; and assists with website and social media graphics and newsletters.
  • Works closely with the Marketing team on content creation geared to specific strategies to achieve targeted outcomes. Translates ideas into variable design concepts.
  • Serves as liaison to the Donated Goods Retail division and provides specific marketing and design support.
  • Plans and develops the interior and exterior marketing and branding efforts in the Donated Goods Retail division with the ultimate goal of increasing sales and donations.
  • Works closely with print, signage, and promotional product companies on the production of branded marketing items.
  • Researches and keeps well-informed of emerging design trends and technologies, as well as best practices for print and digital.
  • Exhibits comfortability with artificial intelligence (AI) programs to support marketing efforts.
  • Assists with developing and maintaining manuals/guidelines for branding and marketing collateral.
  • Supports Human Resources' efforts to assist in spreading the word about employment opportunities.
  • Travels to Goodwill Keystone Area stores and donation centers in 22-county territory to support Donated Goods Retail and Marketing activities, as needed.
  • Operates within guidelines of approved project budgets and ensures projects meet established deadlines.
  • Represents Goodwill Keystone Area at special events, such as grand openings, and community outreach activities, and donation drives.
  • Assists with the development of the annual budget for retail marketing and works with the team to ensure the completion of operational tasks that are in line with the annual strategic plan.
  • Provides support for all marketing activities, as needed, and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Assures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.
  • Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Marketing and Communications Manager.



Qualifications

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or relevant field; or Associates Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications with two (2) years' experience in the relevant field; or High School diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years' relevant experience which enables the individual to meet the standards and expectations of the position.
  • Three (3) years' experience in marketing, graphic design, or brand management.


Skills/Abilities/Qualifications



  • Must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Manage multiple projects at any given time.
  • Adaptive design eye and skill.
  • Strong project management skills including highly organized, detail oriented and task completion focused.
  • Solid working knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and have experience in Canva or other creative tools
  • Experience with video production/editing preferred.
  • Team player who connects with staff and teams across the entire organization.
  • Able to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must present self in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle or reliable transportation with the ability to travel within GKA territory.
  • Ability to operate marketing department vehicle.
  • Ability to work outside of the normal work schedule, as needed.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift over 30lbs.
