Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $28.00 - $32.00/hour Shift: 2nd or 3rd Hours: 3:00pm - 11:00pm or 10:30pm - 7:00am Are your skills not being fully utilized? Reach your maximum potential by working with QPS! Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: - Install, repair, rebuild and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services - Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties - Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production - Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts - Perform skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts; adjust feed and limit mechanisms, gibs, and ways - Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment to involve dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting and aligning operations - Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds - Assist to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion - Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units - Maintain required maintenance logs and files in preferred program - Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements - Respond to urgent maintenance issues causing a major deficit to production/operations, and repair or troubleshoot the problem until production can resume accordingly - Maintain and utilize 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot or provide routine preventative maintenance appropriate for corresponding equipment and procedures at the direction or approval of the Plant Maintenance supervisor - Follows Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper technique and quality - Clean and sanitation equipment required by this position and follows GMP's Requirements for Maintenance Technician: - High School Diploma or GED - At least one year of experience in maintenance, mechanical repair including blueprint reading and interpretation plus up to three years extensive experience in a variety of maintenance trades desired - Strong attention to detail and organization - Able to obtain information, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists - Collaborative approach to teamwork and excellent communication - Able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals - Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals - Able to compute rate, ratio and percentage - Able to operate various tools and equipment to include various hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, plumbing equipment and various measuring equipment - Comfortable standing, lifting and bending for duration of an entire shift - Comfortable with repetitive motions - Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
