Plant Administration - EHS Coordinator


Summary of EHS Coordinator


The Safety Coordinator provides support to management for coordination and administration of overall facility needs related to safety in the workplace.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Partner with Leadership Team for continuous improvement in the Pregis World Class 7 Elements of Safety Program, promoting a zero-injury safety culture.


  • Lead all new employee safety orientation.


  • Facilitate Safety Mentorship process for new employees.


  • Train and collaboration with on shift safety mentors on key employee safety training needs


  • Monitor monthly employee safety participation tasks spreadsheet for compliance.


  • Schedule, conduct and track monthly JJ Keller safety training and EASE assessments.


  • Manage facility workplace incidents to include responding to and reporting all incidents and incident investigations to determine root cause and prevention plans.


  • Maintain safety communication wall and electronic information stations throughout the facility.


  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for all safety supplies.


  • Maintain and record OSHA log and upload RCAs into SharePoint


  • Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.


  • Assist in emergency response and provide first aid guidance.


  • Develop and update Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Machine Guarding Assessments


  • Maintain safety portion of MDI communication boards.


  • Post site safety KPIs and safety trends monthly.


  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the leadership team in achieving the site's goals.


  • Monitor front lobby (visitors, vendors, etc.)



Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)



  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.


  • Support, demonstrate and promote Pregis' core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation.


  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams)



Environment



  • Exposure to moving equipment.


  • Inside work


  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.


  • Humidity may exceed 80%.


  • Noise may exceed 85dB+



Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%


  • Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)


  • Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.


  • If requested, reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship to the business.



Position Type



  • Hourly, full time


  • 40 hours per week, (M-F, 8 hours per day)


  • Ability to work overtime as needed by the business.



Education and Experience



  • High School diploma or equivalent required


  • Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
