HX5 is seeking an OT&E Instructor/Training Manager, SME to join our team at Hurlburt Field in support of the 605th Test and Evaluation Squadron.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The training manager will oversee all training as well as develop and instruct squadron training courses.
  • OT&E Instructor/Training Manager SME shall instruct new personnel per squadron guidelines and standards.
  • The instructor shall articulate material as it constitutes joint all domain command & control (JADC2) and operational-level multi-domain C2.
  • Articulate OT&E guidance from DoD and Defense Acquisitions University (DAU) policy directives, instructions, regulations, policies and 605 TES guidance, procedures and courses.
  • Specifically, the contractor shall provide OT orientation and OT 101 classroom academic instruction to new individuals at home station, Det's and other agencies as agreed to by squadron leadership.
  • Issue end of course certificates, surveys and links to the training materials.
  • Maintain training roster(s) of individuals who will be attending OT 101 and ensure training records are updated IAW applicable squadron guidance.
  • Provide 605 TES/CC a monthly training report and brief status of OT&E training at least quarterly to the 605 TES PM.
  • Coordinate, track, update, and instruct the 605 TES OT&E training program and materials.
  • The SME will ensure that squadron members that are acquisition coded complete required DAU foundational/practitioner and 605 TES dedicated OT&E training as prescribed in the 605 TES Training Guide/matrix.
  • This individual will track all OT&E training and report back to the 605 TES monthly the status of individuals in training.
  • The training manager will prepare the 605 TES OT 101 and OT orientation courses for both mentors and instructors and ensure the material is current and IAW regulations and squadron guidance.
  • The training manager will also coordinate with Flight/Det Leadership, 605 TES Detachments, and associated outside organizations to schedule classes, assign instructors, and follow up with surveys and certificates of those attending the classes.
  • The 605 TES OT&E training manager will solicit from Flight/Det leadership prospective nominees for test project managers and assist the Director of Operations with updating the squadron Letter of X's to ensure those conducting OT&E have received the proper training and certifications.
  • Track all new members assigned to do OT&E entering the 605 TES.
  • This includes associated Dets and operating locations (OL).
  • Provide all new members with training instructions and work with the Flight/Det Leadership to ensure a mentor is provided to the new individual.
  • Manage a training database/RMT Training to ensure new members are receiving their OT&E training on-time and as scheduled.
  • Extract information from the Acquisition Career Management System (ACMS), ACQNow with direction from ACC Acquisition Management & Integration Center (ACC AMIC) and the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) to train/track/maintain members progress with DAU certifications and status.
  • Solicit test project manager nominations from Flight/Det leadership's and coordinate approval with DO and inclusion into the Letter of Xs.
  • May be tasked for course management/support to augment 705th Training Squadron (705 TRS), and 505th Training Squadron (505 TRS), as required by 505 TTG/CC. Contractor may be requested to augment AOC, Kessel Run Block 20, TOC-L, ABMS, and other traditional and agile C4ISR testing, experimentation and TD&Es as required to support ACC taskings.

Experience and Other Requirements:

  • May be requested to attend air operations center (AOC) IQT and or/ U.S. Air Force Forces (AFFOR) courses for proficiency to augment 505 TTG as required.
  • Must have familiarity with Department of Defense Instructions (DoDI), and MAJCOM OT&E policies and directives.
  • Must be an assertive team player that is willing to engage various leadership levels, and key stakeholders both inside and outside the 605 TES.
  • Desired 3 years of experience as an operational tester and project manager.
  • Desired Air Operations Center (AOC) / U.S. Air Force Forces (AFFOR) experience.
  • Desired prior academic instructor from DoD school.
  • Desired to have completed DAWIA OT&E Level One or T&E Foundational Certification.
  • Desired knowledge of joint all domain command & control (JADC2) and operational-level multi-domain C2.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to date of hire.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a US Top Secret/SCI SSBI within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary.
