Position Overview:

The Operations and
Productivity Manager plays a critical role in supervising the firm's operations
and compliance program, ensuring the independence of sales and trade approvals,
and maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements. This role is responsible
for supporting the development and ongoing operational and compliance
efficiency, with a focus on compliance programs under Rule 206 (4)- inspection
and enforcement, all sub regulations under Rule 206(4)-7 ADVISOR ACT - Compliance
Programs of Investment Advisors, Rule 206(4)-7 ADVISOR ACT - Compliance
Programs of Investment Advisors, TSSB 116.7 maintenance and inspection or
records, a review of 115.1 supervisor requirements, RNDP Policy and Procedures.
The manager will also act as a key partner to the RNDP program manager and
provide crucial reporting and documentation support.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all operations and compliance functions, ensuring they meet regulatory and firm standards.
  • Approve trades, annuity transactions, and provide firm acceptance for all new accounts, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Assist advisors with seminar approvals, outside correspondence approvals, and the routing of marketing materials through appropriate channels.
  • Collaborate with the RNDP program manager to collect and file monthly supervision reports, audit branch activities, and maintain evidence of supervision.
  • Provide necessary support to the BWSI Board of Directors, ensuring training documentation for RNDP is completed and properly maintained.
  • Occasionally serve as a designee for the CEO/CCO, reviewing electronic communications, and ensuring supervision documentation and approvals are accurate.
  • Review sales activities, presentations, and new account setups for compliance, delegating responsibilities as necessary.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of existing business processes and proactively identify opportunities for compliance and operational improvements.
  • Act as a liaison with third-party partners, collaborating with the Chief Compliance Officer and line of business sales teams as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and committees, contributing to the firm's strategic goals.
  • Conduct firm-wide risk analysis, manage the PTE process and annual assessment, and ensure the maintenance of policy and procedure documentation.
  • Oversee personnel licensing and registration, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • AML/KYC Compliance: Ensure the firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures are rigorously followed.
  • Oversee the best interest processes for insurance and other financial products, ensuring new policies meet regulatory standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of the firm's trade blotter.
  • Maintain the firm's books and records, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and are available for inspection.
  • Conduct regular reviews of trade execution to ensure the firm's practices meet best execution standards.
  • Oversee Regulation 13(h) filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of compliance training programs for the firm's employees.
  • Occasionally travel to various financial centers and customer locations to support operational and compliance activities.
  • This position may require
    travel within the Bank's geographic area.


Experience & Education:

  • 7+ years of experience in investment operations and compliance support.
  • 5 years of proven success in trade processing, including life insurance.
  • Demonstrated success in providing operational guidance and support to advisors managing diverse portfolios in a bank program.
  • Experience in managing and developing both sales and operations teams.
  • A minimum 4-year college degree is required, or equivalent supervisory experience.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong solution-oriented sales skills, with a focus on compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the firm and project a positive image in the community.
  • Experience with supervisory responsibilities in investment operations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in managing regulatory filings, risk analysis, and compliance training.
  • Ability to identify and implement operational and compliance improvements.
  • Proficiency in financial software such as Bloomberg, VeoOne, iRebal, Advent, Black Diamond, Orion, Morningstar, EnAct, Redtail, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft Office suite.

Other Requirements:

  • S65 or S66, Texas Life and Health license or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Working knowledge of relevant financial software and tools.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
