Loan Servicing Specialist

North State Bank has an exciting opportunity for a Loan Servicing Specialist in our Loan Operations department located on our corporate campus in North Raleigh. The Loan Servicing Specialist provides overall operational support in the set-up and maintenance of consumer and commercial loans and leases. Provides loan support to assist Bank staff with loan troubleshooting and problem resolution. Assists with paid out loan documentation to include collateral release, GL reconciliation, participation accounts, account set up and maintenance. This role is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days in office after initial training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serves as a resource for all Bank staff to troubleshoot, find and resolve any loan/lease related questions.
• Processes and completes paid out processing for all paid out loans, to include commercial, consumer and mortgage loans.
• Releases collateral according to bank policy, including deeds of trust, vehicle titles, UCC cancellations, MERS and negotiable collateral cancellations.
• Processes all loan/lease maintenance items, including account or customer profile change requests, loan advance transaction requests, automatic payment setup and maintenance, and all other loan related maintenance requests.
• Resolves all rejected items to include the reversal and fee application for returned ACH items and all NSF payments. Also notifies the assigned loan officer of any returned items.
• Serves as back-up to entries to board new loan and modifications into Bank's core servicing system. Balances individual transactions processed throughout the day, and appropriately posting all payments and payoffs received.
• Tracks, reviews and maintains proper insurance coverage for active leases.
• Assists with requests for funds or posts payments as received for participated accounts, as well as being servicing contact for participating entities.
• Helps to serve customers with questions related to the general servicing of their loan. This may include but is not limited to payment processing/inquiries, history interpretation, interest computations, year-end reporting, payment calculations, draft/debit processing, and any other loan related servicing questions.
• Responsible for sales tax, property tax and tax listings for lease portfolio.
• Processes statement generation and mailing as needed
• Participates in special projects and assignments as needed.

Qualifications (Includes education, certifications, experience, etc.):

• An associate degree in business or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years of loan accounting and/or operations experience. Leasing industry experience a plus.
• Possess a working knowledge of lease/loan documentation and related compliance issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with the Internet, Microsoft Excel and Word, and underwriting systems.
