POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State is seeking an experienced human resource professional to lead the Penn State College of Medicine (COM), Department of Human Resources, in Hershey, PA.

As a member of Penn State Human Resources and serving as Strategic Partner to the Penn State College of Medicine, the successful candidate will provide strategic HR leadership, foster innovation, help to deliver organizational improvements, and provide change management support. The Strategic Partner will ensure the alignment and execution of unit-level HR strategy established by the unit's strategic plan. They will also align this to the University-level HR mission and strategy to enhance organizational and individual employee excellence and success. This position will work closely with the College of Medicine leadership team to advance the academic and research missions of the college.

This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and supports the College of Medicine Dean. The HRSP will oversee and provide leadership for the College of Medicine Human Resources team. The successful candidate will be the primary HR business partner for the college and ensure alignment and delivery of HR strategic and service delivery needs across multiple HR functions, including:

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

In addition to exceptional technical skills and management abilities, the candidate must have a passion for delivering high-quality service; the ability to develop and mentor staff; the ability to manage large-scale projects with diverse groups of people; and, the ability to work both independently and cooperatively with various levels of faculty, staff, and administrators.

A Master's degree and HR experience in higher education is preferred. Experience in HR management and leadership in recruitment and compensation, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development is required. A thorough knowledge of employment and labor laws is necessary.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $97,100.00 - $145,700.00.
