The Role

This position is primarily responsible for managing carrier vendors who provide voice services, including negotiating contracts, reviewing performance and analyzing data. Candidate will redline contracts to meet established business needs, negotiate with the other party to reach agreement on terms, stakeholder with internal SMEs to gain approval if terms are outside of standard parameters, and work closely with regulatory legal should commission action be required. The right candidate will have the ability to handle situations involving conflict while promoting a positive company image, consume high amounts of complex data points and craft presentations that are easily consumed by the business, and communicate courteously and professionally with other employees, external entities, and industry representatives.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Negotiate Agreements/Amendments with other carriers and their representatives, managing multiple agreements simultaneously.
  • Coordinate with internal groups such as legal, product, sales, network planning, routing, maintenance/repair, finance, and regulatory.
  • Identify gaps in our contract language template or guidelines, and work with team members/ internal subject matter experts to propose new solutions.
  • Work with internal teams to monitor vendor service performance and address any issues with the vendor.
  • Analyze network call data and vendor invoicing to produce cost and revenue analysis used in contract negotiation, dispute resolution and TDM to IP transition opportunities.
  • Identify cost savings and business opportunities with new vendors, develop a plan and follow through to completion.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Work effectively on a team and as a self-driven contributor.
  • Contract negotiation skills and ability to interpret terms and conditions of contracts, tariffs and industry regulations.
  • Combination of strong data analysis, written/oral communications, and problem-solving versatility: making the best decisions possible given the data quality and time available.
  • Knowledge of and Experience with voice usage services, network design, routing, and billing for 251/252 regulated services as well as commercially driven Voice Term, Toll Free and Ancillary services in both the TDM and IP technology spaces.
  • Must be able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment, prioritize multiple projects and issues at the same time, with the ability to coordinate across functions and possess a proactive work method.
  • Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills and other tools for managing, analyzing, and creating reports of large, sometimes complex datasets (MS Access, Tableau, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of relevant job experience. Relevant experience is described as:
    • Telecom specific to voice services
    • Contract negotiation
    • Data analysis and presentation
    • Similar essential duties
Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
