Description

The Financial Analyst's responsibility is to perform accounting functions in the work activities of the MT/WY finance team. This position will strengthen the ability of the team to perform accounting work timely and support operational leaders.

Minimum Requirements:



  1. Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting and 5+ years of relevant experience
  2. Well-developed analytical, accounting, and financial skills
  3. High ethical and moral standards
  4. Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail


Preferred Requirements:



  1. Experience in the construction industry
  2. Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month end close process


Duties and/ or Responsibilities:



  1. Work safely and take action to prevent all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors
  2. Prepare regular balance sheet reconciliations including subledger to ledger, intercompany, cash, and others
  3. Use Excel to prepare journal entries, analyze for reasonability, post to JDE, then review
  4. Work under SOX controls and track compliance
  5. Research and resolve issues working with operations and other accounting staff
  6. Support the Assistant Controller in any accounting functions as needed
  7. Coordinate efforts on projects including new software initiatives, operational accounting support, regional standardization, etc.
  8. Find ways to improve processes
  9. Must maintain confidentiality of financial data
  10. Must always maintain the highest level of moral and ethical standards
  11. Contribute to a collaborative team environment with a positive attitude and solid work ethic


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  1. Proficient in Excel
  2. Experience with JDE or other ERP systems
  3. Solid problem solving
  4. Clear oral and written communication
  5. Good time management and organization
  6. Practiced in self-motivation


Travel and Location:

This position, if filled outside of Billings, will require frequent travel to Billings for 6 months and regularly thereafter.
