We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong. Whether you've got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you're looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.

Within Amazon, the Finance Operations Risk, Governance & Experience (FORGE)'s mission is to improve controllership across Finance Operations (FinOps) by identifying risks, protecting assets, designing to-be controls, testing existing controls, and as appropriate, assisting process owners with risk mitigation or remediation. In addition, FORGE collaborates with teams within and beyond FinOps on risk assessments, compliance, corporate social responsibility, regulatory, and governance matters.

Our FORGE GREF Inspections team is seeking a Risk Program Manager to join our team. We partner with Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) business lines to prioritize opportunities for inspection and perform independent inspections of GREF processes and facilities. Deficiencies identified (defects, findings) are shared with GREF to enable increased controllership and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will be responsible for the Program Management of a number of inspection programs, ranging from annual lab inspections, physical security inspections, as well as lead and conduct risk-based process inspections end to end (planning, fieldwork, reporting), designing reports that enable our various business partners of various levels and remits to identify challenges, potential issues and highlight success. The candidate should have a strong background in process and understanding of business systems as data will come from disparate systems and processes. The individual should have background or previous exposure to risk management, control design and mapping, or audit (operational or financial). In addition, the role will be a liaison with GREF customer functions and/or geographies and work with other FORGE team members to link risks with compliance and inspection functions as appropriate.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Be self-driven, be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, be flexible with the ability to prioritize workloads and have a strong eye for detail.
  • This role will have regular interaction with multiple business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Be able to work within an entrepreneurial culture - delivering solutions, providing leadership and communication - but not afraid to dive into details.
  • Be able to win the trust and co-operation of key Program stakeholders.
  • Have a bias for action and proactively move the Program forward and continually insist on the highest standards.
  • Have the ability to confidently operate within a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • At all times maintain Program information and status up to date using tools provided.
  • Act as the center of knowledge for each Program, drive solutions to problems, and chair Program calls and provide updates regularly.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, self-motivate, and deliver results in ambiguous environments.
