Job Overview

The Associate, Events & Meetings supports the Director of Events & Meetings in developing and executing Macy's in-store event strategy. They play a key role in driving foot traffic, enhancing customer engagement, and elevating the Macy's brand experience through the seamless coordination and execution of high-impact events. The Associate collaborates closely with cross-functional partners - including store operations, marketing, merchandising, and communications - to ensure successful event delivery.

What You Will Do

Event Support & Execution



  • Assist in developing and implementing event plans that align with brand and business objectives.
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including vendor communication, production timelines, and on-site execution.
  • Partner with store teams and internal stakeholders to ensure flawless execution and brand consistency.
  • Maintain and update the event playbook and execution templates to drive scalability and efficiency.


Marketing, PR & Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Support PR and marketing efforts by collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure events are aligned with broader marketing, merchandising, and store strategies.
  • Prepare event briefs, recaps, and performance reports for internal stakeholders.


Operational & Financial Coordination



  • Track event budgets and expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial guidelines.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist in compiling data to assess performance and ROI.
  • Help streamline operational processes to enable consistency and scale across events.


Team & Project Support



  • Provide administrative and project management support to the Director of Events & Meetings.
  • Coordinate team meetings, timelines, and deliverables to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, results-oriented team culture focused on innovation and customer experience.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.


Skills You Will Need

Event Planning & Logistics: Strong ability to coordinate end-to-end event execution, including vendor management, production timelines, and on-site support.

Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and use of project management tools.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven experience partnering with store operations, marketing, merchandising, and communications to deliver integrated, brand-aligned events.

Retail Marketing & Customer Engagement: Familiarity with retail marketing strategies and experiential activations that drive foot traffic and elevate customer experience.

Budgeting & Financial Tracking: Competence in tracking event budgets, managing expenses, and supporting ROI analysis and financial reporting.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Process Improvement & Documentation: Experience maintaining and evolving event playbooks and templates to streamline workflows and drive scalability.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with budgeting systems or event management tools is a plus.

Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Able to pivot in real-time to address event-day challenges and shifting priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Team Support & Culture: Willingness to support team operations, meetings, and administrative needs while contributing to a collaborative and customer-focused culture.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 5+ years of experience in event coordination, marketing, or PR, preferably in retail, fashion, media, or hospitality.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs. Able to travel as needed for event support.
