Job Summary

The Director, Paid Media plays a crucial role in strategically advancing AMC conversions and revenue through targeted and effective paid media platforms and placements, most notably low-funnel performance marketing tactics. This leadership position oversees a small team and requires a hands-on approach, serving as a strategist, executor, and analyst. The role is responsible for developing, executing and evolving AMC's media approach and strategy, leading integrated paid media resources to ensure and prove our successful investment, while building brand affinity, conversions, and profit. The Director also leads agency partners in execution of their media planning and buying vision.

This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and direct integrated media resources and teams to ensure successful investment and return of annual paid media investment aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee media strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for all media tactics including display, paid search, online video, paid social, and traditional media.
  • Manage relationships with agency partners, ensuring effective collaboration, delivery, and budget management.
  • Provide thought leadership and subsequently implement recommendations in support of media strategy, investment opportunities, and the evolving media landscape.
  • Strategically define and employ various media tools and analysis to influence reporting, planning, and media buying. Lead media measurement, analytics, and financial modeling to evaluate implications and provide informed recommendations to the marketing leadership team and Executive Committee.
  • Manage media agency and relevant partners, overseeing relationships, delivery, and budgets.
  • Elevate AMC's expertise in paid media programs, messaging, and marketing.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related experience leading media strategy, planning, and/or buying.
  • Strong experience in Meta, Google, and other media platforms.
  • Analytics mindset with focus on performance marketing outcomes, return on investment (ROI) and return on marketing investment (ROMI).
  • Ability to develop and deliver executive-facing narratives that prove outcomes and align plans.
  • Proven record of executing strategic marketing initiatives, balancing strategic thinking and thought leadership with hands-on execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a significant budget and work with internal and external teams for successful execution.
  • Experience managing multi-channel advertising campaigns.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation capabilities
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet or beat deadlines.
  • Experience developing team members.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with internal and external parties.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.

What we also value (preferred):

  • Strategic planning and program management.
  • Advanced written and oral communications skills, with proven experience presenting to executives and C-suite.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in paid media to drive strategic evolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of industry changes and proactively adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Knowledge of the film exhibition industry.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related experience leading media strategy, planning, and/or buying.
  • Strong experience in Meta, Google, and other media platforms.
