What You Can Expect Working in the Shipping and Quality Control Technician Position

The Shipping and Quality Control Technician is responsible for loading and unloading shipments, reviewing bills of lading, pulling orders, and coordinating with delivery drivers and the Installation Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. Conducts daily equipment and safety inspections, organizes inventory, and maintains the yard. The Shipping and Quality Control Technician performs product inspections to verify dimensions, functionality, and compliance with specifications. Reviews production output against blueprints, documents results, and supports quality training initiatives. Ensures outgoing loads match order requirements and assists in identifying process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily safety checks, including forklift and equipment inspections
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Review and interpret BOL and shipping documents
  • Pull and verify orders for accuracy with Quality Control before shipment
  • Inspect products for correct dimensions, functionality, and adherence to specifications
  • Compare production output to blueprints and standards, document inspection results
  • Coordinate with delivery drivers and the Installation Coordinator for upcoming shipments in a professional manner
  • Maintain an organized inventory of fixed goods and perform general yard upkeep
  • Support the production team with quality training and recommend process improvements
  • Completes a variety of projects requested by the Supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ years of forklift operator experience.
  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
  • Good customer service, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.

  • Experience working with Quality Control

  • The worker is exposed to adverse environmental conditions, such as hot and cold climates, dusty, and noisy areas.
