Position Highlights

The Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona (UA) seeks a Director for our Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC). We invite applications from candidates with training and clinical experience in evidence-based intervention techniques (e.g., ACT, CBT, MI) and a commitment to intervention development, implementation, and outcome assessment. This position is classified as a 12-month, full-time, career-track Assistant Clinical Professor appointment.

The BHC is housed within the Clinical Psychology Program at UA, which follows a clinical science training model and is jointly accredited by both the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System and the American Psychological Association's Commission on Accreditation. The BHC serves the greater Tucson area and the University community by providing intervention and assessment services to a diverse client base. Clinical psychology doctoral students serve as house staff in the BHC and benefit from excellent training in the integration of science and practice provided by the Director. The BHC Director is an integral member of our active clinical science training program.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provision of clinical training and supervision to clinical
    graduate students
  • Coordination and administration of day-to-day BHC
    operations
  • Facilitating clinical research, especially implementation
    and dissemination
  • Developing and maintaining community relations
  • Assisting the Director of Clinical Training with management
    of our curriculum, student competency evaluations, and student record keeping
    system
  • Potential for teaching clinically-oriented graduate
    courses, including didactic and professional development courses
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from a PCSAS or APA
    accredited institution and an accredited clinical internship
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Arizona
  • Background in clinical science
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing evidence-based
    assessment and treatment services
  • Clinical supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in program planning and administration
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management
  • Experience in providing evidence-based assessment and treatment services for a diverse range of mental health disorders
