About the Job

Student Financial Services is responsible for the billing and collection of student tuition, Federal Perkins Loans, and University Trust Fund Loans. In addition, Student Financial Services refunds students for surpluses on their student accounts, processes third-party billing, and coordinates exit counseling. This position is responsible for greeting, supporting and providing assistance to students, parents, campus departments, and others who call, email, or visit Student Financial Services and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
* Must be a full-time UMD undergraduate student in good academic standing with or without work study.
- Students must maintain half-time enrollment to receive work-study funds. Students enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits during fall and spring semester, may be employed under miscellaneous employment during the summer term without summer enrollment.
* Enrolled with good academic standing at the University of Minnesota Duluth and making satisfactory academic progress towards a degree
* Able to meet the expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic, customer-oriented environment
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Provide excellent start-to-finish customer service
* Sensitive to cultural diversity
* Maintain the confidentiality of student records

Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous customer service experience
* Should be energetic, positive, and have good attention to detail
* Skills in Microsoft Word & Excel

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Student workers are eligible to participate in the Student Health Benefit Plan, if they maintain 6 or more eligible course credits within a given semester. The same applies for Undergraduate Students, Graduate Assistants, Residents, Fellows and Interns.
